Their expertise brings a unique and enriching perspective to every class, creating an unparalleled learning environment for our students.

Placements within our competitive companies are determined primarily by each dancer's skill level, performance quality, and overall progress across various dance genres. While age is taken into consideration, it is not the primary factor. Our goal is to place dancers in environments where they can thrive, surrounded by peers whose abilities and development are aligned with their own. Please note that placements may vary by genre and routine.

To ensure consistent development, we conduct quarterly assessments to track each dancer’s progress across all genres.

At Goddards, we are committed to placing dancers in classes where they are not only technically challenged but also well-matched in maturity, helping them flourish in a supportive and inspiring environment.

We believe that dance is a powerful outlet for children and plays an essential role in their mental well-being. That’s why it’s so important to place them in companies where they can grow, feel confident, and succeed both artistically and personally.

Our Full-Time Competitive Program emphasizes technique, conditioning, and versatility, while also helping dancers build confidence, responsibility, respect, and organizational skills that benefit them both in and out of the studio. Guided by a team of professional educators and choreographers, dancers refine their technique, enhance their self-expression, and develop their overall artistry.

This program requires commitment, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. We welcome dedicated dancers of all ages who demonstrate the potential to thrive in this environment.

Full-time dancers train 3–4 weeknights per week, with a schedule ranging from 10 to 20 hours depending on their age group. Auditions are mandatory for all prospective dancers to ensure the best fit within our company. End-of-year assessments are also conducted to monitor progress and growth.

Please note: Ballet Exams are mandatory for all full-time competitive dancers.

Additional Classes

Some students may wish to take extra technique classes outside their program level (e.g., two Tap or two Acro classes per week). If you're interested in adding an additional class, please inquire—we’re happy to accommodate where space permits.

Our Part-Time Competitive Program offers the best of both worlds, providing dancers with the excitement, structure, and discipline of competitive dance, while maintaining a more flexible weekly time commitment. Dancers benefit from working with experienced, professional educators who are dedicated to developing their technique, performance skills, and confidence.

At Goddards, we offer several levels within our Part-Time Competitive Program, from Munchkins, Micro-Minis and Minis through to our Senior level. All Part-Time Competitive dancers train for approximately 6 hours per week.

As with our Full-Time Competitive Program, all dancers are required to audition to ensure the best fit within our community. For more information about joining the Part-Time Competitive Company, please contact us by email—we’d love to hear from you!

Optional Weekly Classes for Dancers in the Part-Time Competitive Company include Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap, Progressive Ballet Technique, Aerial Hoop and Aerial Silks.

* Competitive rehearsals will take place in addition to the above mentioned technique classes and may run on alternate days to regular schedule and on weekends.

Our Mini and Micro-Mini Competitive Companies are designed for dancers who have previously participated in the Munchkin Company or have prior competitive dance experience.

Dancers in these companies will compete in 2–3 routines across 3/4 competitions each season. At the discretion of our faculty, there may also be opportunities for solos, duets, trios, or small group routines. Please note that additional fees will apply for these optional performances.

Competition entry fees and costume costs are not included and will be charged separately.

*Ballet Exams are mandatory for all dancers in these programs.

Additional Classes

Mini Competitive Company dancers have the opportunity to further enhance their skills through optional weekly classes in specialized disciplines such as Jumps & Turns, Contemporary, Lyrical, Progressive Ballet Technique, Aerial Hoop, and Aerial Silks.

For those looking to deepen their training even further, some dancers may choose to take additional technique classes beyond their core program—such as a second Tap or Acro class per week. If you're interested in adding extra classes, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Space is limited, but we’ll do our best to accommodate your dancer’s goals and growth.

Our Munchkin Competitive Company is the perfect introduction to the world of competitive dance. Dancers in this company train twice a week, attending a total of 4–5 classes, and will participate in 2–3 mandatory competitive routines across 3–4 competitions each season.

At the discretion of our faculty, dancers may also have the opportunity to perform a solo, duet, trio, or small group routine. Please note that additional fees will apply for these optional performances.

Our Aerial Competitive Company offers aerialists the exciting opportunity to compete at dedicated aerial events, as well as alongside our dance competitive team at selected competitions. This unique experience allows students to showcase their skills in both specialized aerial settings and within the broader competitive dance environment.

Aerialists are required to participate in a minimum of two competitions per season and may be invited to compete in more than one aerial genre, based on their ability and readiness.
