Yoga For Kids

The following classes are designed for all levels of abilities for both boys and girls.

“Yoga is like music. The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind and the harmony of the soul creates the symphony of life”  B.K.S Iyengar.

Yoga is for everyone – children, teenagers, boys and girls, it is a wonderful way to promote physical health. As well as helping with flexibility, yoga helps us to understand our bodies. It also plays an important role in emotional development. Children with developmental and physical disabilities such as Down Syndrome, Cerebal Palsy, Dyspraxia, Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD and ADD, are welcome to all classes that are offered at Goddards Studio, but we especially recommend yoga as it has so many benefits. With regular practice, yoga can help children gain greater concentration, self-control, emotional and physical balance and strength.

As our students develop and mature, our yoga classes grow with them to give them more of what they need. Inspired by trends, themes and music, we focus on making yoga fun. We work on developing the strength and balance within the postures whilst encouraging the body and the mind connection to find relaxation.

Mini Yogi’s and Lil’ Yogi’s

In our story based yoga classes, we emphasize the fun! While developing the yoga postures and encouraging mindfulness and relaxation, we use our story telling adventures to build strength, balance and confidence. Not only does yoga play an important role in the physical development but the emotional too.

2-3 year olds – Mondays at 10:30am – 11:00am

4-6 year olds – Saturdays at 9:30am – 10:15am

For our older yogis, we focus on finding self awareness to feelings and thoughts, allowing them to connect to their emotions. The mindfulness side of yoga helps to reduce stress and improve moods and is an excellent way to help deal with the overwhelming emotional and physical changes that they go through during adolescence.
